in Valle di Ledro
Proposals and suggestions for your ideal holidays. The Valle di Ledro, with its spectacular diversified nature for every season, is the perfect place to have fun doing activities and outdoor sports surrounded by greenery. Here are some of the experiences you can do if you come here on vacation.
Tour of Ledro Lake
The tour of Ledro Lake is the best way, just arrived in the valley, to get in touch with the territory. The route is about 10 km long and is easy and suitable for everyone. It is possible to do it easily on foot or by bike.
During the walk it is possible to admire the suggestive views of the mountains surrounding the lake. It is an excursion to do in total relaxation at any age. For the more sporty we recommend that you bring a swimsuit with them for a nice dip in the lake after the walk.
Stilt houses from the Bronze Age
To allow the construction of the hydroelectric power station of Riva del Garda, in the now distant 1929, the level of Lake Ledro was lowered and, in general amazement and emotion, one of the most important archaeological discoveries in Europe came to light: over 10,000 poles and numerous artifacts dating back to around 4.000 years ago. It was a pile-dwelling village from the Bronze Age which earned it the recognition of a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
It is possible to relive the atmosphere of the life of our ancestors also through the adjacent museum built in 2006.
Walks and trekking
One of the most famous activities in Valle di Ledro thanks to the not very high mountains is certainly trekking.
One of the most beautiful and panoramic excursions for the most trained is the one at the top of Monte Corno from where you can enjoy an amazing view over the whole lake.
Another simpler but equally suggestive excursion that can be done all year round is the one that connects Lake Ledro to Riva del Garda, along the famous Ponale route, built overhanging the lake, with splendid views of the Upper Lake of Garda.
Mountain bike trails
Thanks to over 200 km of marked trails on forest roads, paths and old mule tracks, the Val di Ledro is a true paradise for MTB lovers. There are routes suitable for both beginners and experts and adrenaline lovers.
Among the most well-known routes, the climb to Tremalzo and the mouth to Trat – Rifugio Pernici stand out. For the less trained, the valley floor is crossed by a beautiful cycle path that leads from Lake Ledro to Lake Ampola.
Sail on Lake Ledro
Lake Ledro, because of its swimming waters, not too agitated by the wind, is the ideal place for sailing and windsurfing. Around 11 am every morning, a light breeze rises which, especially in the central-western part of Lake Ledro, between Pieve and Mezzolago, allows pleasant outings, with tranquility and without stress.
The force of the wind is such that even beginners can approach sailing and windsurfing in total safety.
Are you an adrenaline lover? Canyoning is a new discipline that consists in the descent of ravines and waterfalls in full contact with the most hidden nature. Here in the Ledro Trentino valley there are two streams where it is possible to practice it: the Palvico torrent and the Rio Nero in the Ampola valley.
Palvico is perfect for those approaching this sport for the first time because it is not too long and demanding. The Rio Nero that descends from Tremalzo, of longer duration, is more demanding from a technical point of view.
With snowshoes on the snow
During the winter, numerous excursions with snowshoes are organized to discover the natural environment of the Valle di Ledro: from the woods of Val Concei to the basin of Tremalzo.
Thanks to the experience of the Alpine and Environmental Hiking Guides it will be possible to learn to observe the landscape and our woods, to learn more about the nature and history of Trentino and the Valley.
